Job Description: Account Planner - Sports Business Unit

 

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Account Planner with a passion for sports and brand building to join our dynamic team. As an Account Planner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction for sports campaigns, ensuring that our clients' objectives align with current market trends, consumer insights, and creative executions. You will collaborate with internal teams, including creative, media, and client services, to develop strategies that elevate brand experiences in the sports industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Develop and execute strategic plans for sports marketing campaigns, focusing on brand positioning, audience engagement, and market differentiation.
  • Consumer Insight: Conduct and analyze market research to understand audience behaviors, preferences, and trends in the sports industry, using this data to inform campaign strategies.
  • Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their business objectives, challenges, and target audiences, and translate this information into actionable strategies.
  • Campaign Planning: Collaborate with creative, media, and digital teams to develop integrated marketing plans that resonate with the target audience and achieve client goals.
  • Briefing: Create clear and concise briefs that align with the client’s vision and provide a solid foundation for creative and media teams.
  • Trend Analysis: Stay updated on sports marketing trends, athlete endorsements, sponsorship deals, and digital engagement to continuously refine and adapt strategies.
  • Performance Metrics: Define KPIs and work with data analytics teams to measure campaign effectiveness, providing recommendations for optimization and reporting on campaign performance.
  • Brand Stewardship: Maintain and strengthen the brand identity of clients through strategic brand building in sports marketing efforts.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in account planning, brand strategy, or marketing within the sports, media, or entertainment industries.
  • Strong understanding of sports culture, sponsorships, and athlete endorsements.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate strategies to clients and internal teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with digital and social media platforms, especially within sports marketing contexts.
  • A passion for sports and a deep understanding of fan engagement and behavior.

  • Experience working on high-profile sports campaigns.
